Hi, I’m Byrd — a therapist based in London.

I offer therapy for adults, rooted in consent, compassion and collaboration. As a pluralistic practitioner, I draw from a range of therapeutic methods to work towards what feels most helpful and meaningful to you. Come as you are, and I’ll meet you there.

ABOUT ME

I’m Byrd (they/them) — a pluralistic therapist based in London.

I’m 30y/o, living in North London, originally from Scotland. My background is in psychology, sociology and philosophy.

As a therapist, I offer a space that is queer- and neurodivergent-friendly, and always non-judgemental, inclusive, and grounded in respect. Therapy is shaped by collaboration around your needs, whether you're navigating a specific challenge or looking for somewhere to reflect and process.

If you're curious about working together I offer reduced rate introductory sessions for us to get to know each other.

Therapy

Come as you are; Therapy with byrd

My approach to therapy is laid back, candid, collaborative and consent driven. I aim to offer a non-judgemental space for you to come exactly as you are and be met with compassion, understanding and care. For me, therapy is about working together to understand yourself, your challenges and find ways to navigate difficulties.

I am a pluralistic therapist, meaning there is no single approach to therapy for me (or you). We will collaborate on finding ways of working that best suit you and your needs. I work to bring my whole self to our sessions, so you can bring yours, just as you are.

I am primarily influenced by psychodynamic theories, person centred therapy and sociological and philosophical approaches to psychology. This means I often look beyond the present issue to consider if other factors, experiences or patterns may be around for you.

I have experience with, but am not limited to the following;

anxiety, depression, identity issues, relational difficulties, grief, childhood trauma, changing patterns of behaviour, gender or sexuality issues, existential, spiritual or religious challenges, neurodivergence, finding meaning, kink and BDSM, understanding and navigating complex emotions and trauma

Sessions and fees

I offer one to one sessions in person or online. My in person sessions are in central London, with occasional Edinburgh availability.

My online sessions are for people anywhere in the UK. My fees are on a scale starting at £90 with limited lower income, reduced rate slots available. For those who are able to pay more the option to pay up to £120 is available. Increased rate sessions allow me to provide reduced rate sessions to those that need them.

Introductory Sessions

A 60 minute session at £50 for us to get to know each other, discuss what you’re looking for and to see we’re a good fit. All first sessions are introductory and billed as such, with time to discuss future sessions and fees included.

Open Ended Therapy

Sessions are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly with payment made after each session.

Fixed Short Term Therapy

This is a 10 week block of weekly sessions, designed for working with a particular issue. This block includes two check in sessions at week 6 and 8, with the option to extend our time together if necessary. Blocks are payable in advance or weekly.
